The Where and How of Networking to Achieve Career Goals

Whether in person or virtually, building relationships and networking is a really important part of achieving career roles.  Whether this is approaching your professor for a reference for grad school, reaching out to a professional in your field for an informational interview/coffee chat, or wanting to access the 'hidden' job market, it all relies on being able to talk to others and articulate your goals. How do we do this? By attending this workshop participants will:

  • Learn how and where to connect with professionals in your field and beyond

  • Understand best practices with regard to reaching out to and maintaining connections

  • Identify the key elements of an effective Elevator Pitch
